Vertical Horizons photos by Romain Jacquet-Lagreze

It’s easy to get a measure of a building from afar, but you cant really appreciate a towering city structure until you’ve craned your neck up the length of its spine, admiring the way its reflective edges seem to scrape the sky. Romain’s series captures the behomeths of Hong Kong, from the human perspective of always at their feet. Book available for purchase at hk.asia-city

Architectural Density in Hong Kong

With seven million people, Hong Kong is the 4th most densely populated places in the world. However, plain numbers never tell the full story. In his ‘Architecture of Density’ photo series, German photographer Michael Wolf explores the jaw-dropping urban landscapes of Hong Kong. He rids his photographs of any context, removing any sky or horizon line from the frame and flattening the space until it becomes a relentless abstraction of urban expansion, with no escape for the viewer’s eye. Infinite and haunting.

This terrifies me.

I thought my computer was displaying the pictures incorrectly at first.

I love art, plain and simple. Part of what I enjoy about seeing a piece in person is the close-up views I get. To me, these close-ups can almost be works of art in their own right.

My friends do cool stuff - check it out!

ohgodlunawhy asked: dumb question, but what's the font used on your ATLA/LOK wallpapers?

Woo, I have no idea when you sent this, and I clearly don’t check tumblr very often, but if you’re still interested the font is Raleway, from the League of Moveable Type which has all sorts of great fonts for free. If you’re in need of quality fonts on a budget, I’d also recommend looking at Lost Type, which is a “Pay what you want” website.

yarnbending asked: ... realize it's your art. So I'm really, really sorry about that. Right now it has 5,558 notes, so people do love them and they're beautiful. I'm just really sorry if/that you're not getting recognition for it. :(

It’s all good! I’m just glad to know they’re getting around. I posted them myself and most of them never made it past 100 notes, so I’m thrilled to hear they’ve reached a larger audience. Thanks for reaching out to me!
